Introducing Gut Garden Tea: Tending Your Inner Ecosystem One Cup at a Time

I have been working on something really special and I am so excited to finally share it with you!

Gut Garden Tea is here. And if you have been following along and know my story, you already know how personal this one is for me.

Living with EDS, MCAS, and complex digestive challenges has taught me something that no textbook ever quite captured. Healing the gut is not about finding one miracle herb or one perfect protocol. It is about consistently showing up for your body with gentleness, patience, and the right kind of nourishment. Every single day.

That is exactly the philosophy behind this blend. And it is the reason I spent so much time getting it right.

I love the metaphor of a garden for the gut because it is so accurate. Your digestive system is an entire ecosystem. Every single day, trillions of beneficial bacteria are working alongside your body to help digest food, produce vitamins, support your immune system, and even influence your mood. When that inner garden is neglected or thrown off balance, weeds start to take over in the form of inflammation, digestive discomfort, and microbial imbalance.

Gut Garden Tea was born from my own desire to tend that garden lovingly and consistently. Rather than relying on harsh cleanses or quick fixes, this blend focuses on gentle, nourishing herbs that work together to support digestion, soothe irritation, and encourage a healthy gut environment.

What is in the Gut Garden Tea blend and why I chose each herb

gut garden tea cistus

Cistus (Cistus incanus)

Cistus is one of the most fascinating herbs I have worked with for gut wellness and honestly one that does not get nearly enough attention. She is rich in polyphenols which provide powerful antioxidant support while helping the body manage oxidative stress.

What I find particularly compelling about cistus is her ability to discourage unwanted microbes from adhering to tissues, making her a really intriguing ally for supporting microbial balance. For those whose digestive systems feel sensitive or inflamed, she offers gentle support while helping protect the delicate tissues lining the digestive tract.

Gut Garden Tea spearmint

Spearmint (Mentha spicata)

Spearmint brings the most refreshing, calming quality to both the tea and the digestive system. She has been traditionally used to ease occasional gas, bloating, and digestive discomfort by helping relax the smooth muscles of the digestive tract so that digestion can proceed more comfortably.

She also makes Gut Garden Tea genuinely enjoyable to sip throughout the day which matters more than people realize. An herb you actually look forward to taking is one you will actually take consistently. And consistency is everything when it comes to gut health.

Gut Garden Tea Dandelion

Roasted Dandelion Root (Taraxacum officinale)

Roasted dandelion root gives the tea its rich, earthy depth and she brings so much more than just flavor to the cup. She has traditionally been used to encourage healthy bile production, which helps the body digest fats and supports normal digestive function.

But what I love most about dandelion root is the inulin. Inulin is a naturally occurring prebiotic fiber that feeds the beneficial bacteria in your gut rather than the harmful ones. Think of it like adding nutrient rich compost to a healthy garden. You are nourishing exactly what you want to flourish.

Gut Garden Tea Spearmint

Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis)

If you have been following along here for a while you know how much I love lemon balm. And in this blend she serves such an important purpose.

The gut and nervous system are deeply connected and for those of us with dysautonomia, MCAS, and chronic illness, that connection is something we feel acutely. When we are stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed, our digestion almost always suffers. Lemon balm beautifully bridges that gap by gently supporting both systems at once. She calms the nervous system while quieting digestive tension and for so many of my clients, simply reducing that stress response makes a noticeable and meaningful difference in how their gut feels.

The gut is the root of so much more than digestion

Healthy digestion is not just about avoiding stomach aches. Your gut influences immune function, nutrient absorption, inflammation levels, hormone balance, and even mental wellbeing through the gut brain connection.

When your digestive system feels supported, the rest of your body so often follows.

As someone navigating my own complex digestive challenges alongside EDS and MCAS, I know that healing the gut requires patience and consistency above all else. There is no quick fix or miracle herb... There is only the daily practice of offering your body gentle nourishment and creating the conditions where healing can quietly take root.
